Jonnesway SuperTech Combination Wrench: Metric 32 (SAE 1 1/4") Overview
The idea of universal wrenches and sockets for use with both Standard and Metric nuts has been around for many years. Years ago, the first design used pins inside the socket to grip the nut, but those pins did not hold up very well. The Jonnesway ® Supertech Series is a patented design of the contact points which gives our sockets many increased benefits over the competitors. The Supertech Series has a 12 point "tooth configuration" which provides a much better "grip" on SAE or Metric heads than the competitors' 6 point "tooth configuration" Our Supertech Series provides excellent contact points for SAE and Metric, but also works with all of the head styles including Torx ®, Spline, Star, Square and others.The Supertech Series also grips rounded off fasteners (much better than our competitors) because of the increased contact surface area that is created by 12 points as compared to only 6 points.
Basically it comes down to simple geometry. The Supertech Series drive is designed and manufactured so that every third notch is square and the two notches in between are ground to a special angle. This special drive configuration gives the tool substantially more surface contact (than our competitors) and provides a better grip to prevent stripping. Read more...
